Thanks for answering my last query Noam – I have a couple more:
1 Can the shipping details be setup for Australia (Australia Post). We want to provide a flat rate for all domestic orders and can then use a lookup table for international options?
2 Can the payment options be setup for manual credit card processing – ie. store the card details and then we process them manually – as well as direct bank deposit where we give the customer the bank acct details via email?
3 Can we provide our own SSL certificate?
Hi Willow – the answer to all 3 questions is: “yes of course!” Magento has all these options built-in .
We have purchased the template & integrated it. I have created a category from the backend as per the instructions & also changed the category id in Static Block but it’s not displaying on the Home page as in the demo. Can you tell me the exact steps to display categories on the Home Page?
Hi Shweta – not sure I understand your question. What “category id in Static Block” are you talking about? To setup your categories and have them show up in the top navigation all you have to do is create them in your Magento admin. If they don’t show up make sure you set them up properly.
Or maybe you are talking about the new products on the home page? If so here’s how to display new products on the home page.
Of course remember to clear your Magento cache . Also I’d highly recommend going through the free Magento User Guide to become familiar with the Magento platform.
I hope this helps!
I have set up my magento full package to my web server using ftp, I can access my front end okay, but for some reason i just cannot access my admin page, I have tried all of the below to no success.
I am a noob, but I followed these steps word for word and cannot get into admin??
anyone got a clear explaination of what needs to happen here?
thanks all, appreciated
Hi James – if you can access your Magento frontend that means you installed it properly. Now are you able to see the admin login page but are unable to login or is it that you can’t find the login page at all?
During Magento’s installation process you should have setup 3 things:
1. Your admin slug (default is /admin but you can use anything – for example /myspecialadmin)
2 .Your username
3. Your password
To access your Magento admin page simply go to your-installation-url.com/index.php/your-admin-slug and login with your username and password. It should work .
hi, thanks for your quick reply, I can see the admin page, no matter what log in I use I get” incorrect password” message.
I have been into phph admin and checked the pasword and still cannot access it?
where could I find my admin slug in php?
Hi James – if you can access your Magento login page but you get an “incorrect password” error… well that probably means your password is incorrect and you made a typo when installing your Magento and setting up the username and password .
I’d recommend doing a fresh install of Magento and making sure you note the admin slug, username, and password carefully. There’s not much else that can be done here.
Just purchased, if you could let me have that recommendation it would be appreciated.
Hi Nathan – congratulation on your new order!! Here’s the link to the automatic migration service from BigCommerce to Magento:
We have several customers who used that extension and were happy with it.
Once you migrate, if your URLs are different you’ll want to setup permanent redirections from the old pages to the new ones in your Magento store. Here’s how to add a permanent redirect and here’s how to redirect an entire directory.
I really hope this helps!!
We also need to update our domain to signwhol.nextmp.net as this is what we’ll be using to get the site ready.
Done! Just let me know when you’re ready to go live and you want to switch it back to your live URL.
Hi.Noam – thanks for your quick reply!
Hi Noam! How to Enable the Discussion extension?
Hi Shweta – here’s how to download our free Magento Discussion extension .
Just wondering if it would be possible to get rid of the alt text that says ‘popup’ when I hover over the product images on grid view. I am using the popup images and love them but just think this ‘popup’ text might confuse people or just clutter up the image.
Hi Gaz – definitely! This is actually something that is planned for the next Ultimento release – stay tuned!
Hi Noam! It redirects to http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/Magentist/extension/4761/ultimento/reviews#reviews when I tried to enter a review from my end, it’s not working. I’m not able to enter text. Maybe some issue with Magento E-Commerce site! Kindly suggest me what to do?
Hi Shweta – everyone else is able to post reviews there (on Magento Connect) and don’t have any problems so I’m not sure what went wrong for you. Maybe try a different browser? Also did you create an account on the Magento website before attempting to post the review?
Need some urgent help. We have setup sale on our site, but for some reason the sale prices disappear after a few days, also the priority on sale rules is not working correct.
I suspect this to be a cron issue. Is that something you can help me with?
Hi Noam – never mind, I got it!
I’m planning on purchasing Ultimento in the near future but I’ve got a question. I noticed on the Twitter page that v2.0 is coming soon. I’m aware that the Max package includes free upgrades but is it possible to get a free upgrade to 2.0 if I go ahead and purchase a Plus Package? I definitely don’t need 5 domain licenses so I’m not willing to swing for the Max Package but at the same time I don’t want to purchase a 1.xx version and then be out of luck when 2.0 comes out.
Perhaps you guys could offer 1 upgrade to customers who purchase Plus rather than unlimited upgrades?
Looking forward to seeing what Ultimento can do.
HI Anthony – thanks for your interest! Ultimento 2.0 will be released within the next 10 days and it will be free to all customers who get Ultimento now (regardless of the package).
There’s a probability that the prices will go up when we release v2.0 so I’d recommend not waiting to get yours .
Let me know if you have any questions!
Good news! I’ll go ahead and grab it in the next couple of days. I did have one other quick questions. Where is located by default on the main CMS page and product pages? Couldn’t find it in the demo.
**Where is the tag located by default**
Hi Anthony – do you mean the tag cloud? It’s located in the left column on all pages that have the left column. Product tags are also listed on the product page (under the “Tags” tab) where users can also submit new tags.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
I actually meant the h1 tag. Looks like the filter took the syntax out of my post b/c I included “”.
Ha ok – on the Magento home page the h1 tag is embedded in the logo (and the text can be setup in the admin). On other Magento pages the h1 is not in the logo but rather in the main title of the page – here are a few examples:
- on the Product Listing pages the h1 is the category name at the top of the listing
- on the Product View pages the h1 is the product name at the top
- for CMS pages the h1 is the title of the page that appears at the top
All these are set in the Magento admin and can be edited there.
Perfect. That’ll do the trick. Sold.
When I setup a test domain to install and get Ultimento up and running what is the easiest way to migrate everything over to the “real” domain when I ready to take that step?
HI Tino – follow these steps:
1. Put your live Magento store under maintenance.
2. Upload a brand new copy of Ultimento and run the installer (follow the installation instructions).
3. Upload your customized copy of Ultimento’s files to the live server, overwriting the default files (unless you used the Ultimento Custom Method in which case you can simply only upload the “ultimentocustom” folders).
That’s it! The whole process shouldn’t take more than a few minutes .
Note: I’m assuming here that you have a live Magento site up and running and that you want to migrate over Ultimento from your test Magento installation with minimum interference.
Hi I have a magneto store with 20 child stores, if I buy the standard version, will i be able to update all the themes to ultimento
Hi Paddy – thanks for your interest! It doesn’t matter for Ultimento how many stores you run it on – the only thing that matters is the base URL of your Magento store. That URL needs to be licensed.
So if you have 20 different URLs then you’ll need all of them to be licensed – if that’s the case let me know and I can give you a discount for bulk URLs .
Excuse my beginner status, I have reinstalled and have managed to get front and back end access, so almost there now, I have read through forums and procedures on set up and coming from a joomla background can see no point where I can turn the ultimento on live web and how i can view it not live?
if you can point me to the correct documentation on this? I have the store set up, but cannot see the ultimento site on my server, just the default site provided by magento.
apologies again on what may be a very simple solution, as mentioned I have searched for this answer to no avail
Hi James – do you get any error in the Magento admin? After the installation your store should look like the live demo . If it doesn’t first make sure followed the installation instructions carefully. If you’re still having problems going through the troubleshooting checklist should solve any potential issues.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted and definitely feel free to send me your FTP and Magento admin info via the help desk if you still need help with this.
Does the price proportionally go up with different URLs, I was hoping to have 120 different urls which are region based but linked to the same magneto store.
Hi Paddy – you can have as many URLs as you want pointing to the same Magento site. There is no license limitation for this . The only limitation is the Base URL you use for your Magento store – that URL needs to be licensed.
Recently purchase the Ultimento theme. Can I use this theme with different magento websites? When I enter in the serial number it says that it could be the wrong one but is it the one that was sent with the theme through email. How do I go about getting this theme licensed for a different “URL”.
HI Samuel – here’s how to add or change URLs in your Ultimento license .
Is there any way to directly send you an e-mail that is not public or through submitting a ticket? I don’t see a phone number .. Thanks!
Hi Lisa – we don’t offer phone support (way too inefficient) but opening a new ticket via the help desk will reach me directly .
Oh yeah I know but I’m trying to find a way to contact you without it being on the ticket… That’s the problem..
It is just a quick question… nothing huge that would entail a long answer..and nothing to do with coding or error…
I just sent you an email .
Hey Noam, I just realized while working on my site that when I am on any of the links from the header (My Account, My Wishlist, My Cart) there is a white area at the bottom of the page, under the footer that does exist on any of the other pages. I checked the Demo site as well and it is the same. Is it supposed to be that way? Hopefully it is not just my browser?!
Hi Jason – I tried to reproduce this on the demo but I was unable to. It all looks pixel perfect to me (I tested on a dozen browsers) – can you open a new ticket via the help desk and include a screenshot of what you see as well as your exact browser version?
We have a client who has recently purchased Ultimento we have installed it and all seems to be working correctly. However, we have twice returned to the the site and found a “Design Change” of default/default has been set with no start or end date causing the frontend to display the default Magento theme. I found this has happened when I first installed Ultimento and removed it but it seems without any input from us the design change has twice returned.
Do you know what could be causing this?
Hi james – please check the troubleshooting entry that deals with why the Magento installation would revert to the default theme .
If you’re still having problems don’t hesitate to open a ticket via the help desk with your FTP and Magento admin info and we can take a look.
I am trying the 30-day demo — the plus package.
I’ve installed all the files — checked it twice — and ran the 1-click installer. Everything installed fine. The 1-click installer is awesome.
However – when I try to enter my validation code and access Ultimento > Settings I get a 404 Error / Page not found error.
The front-end is working fine,
What am I missing?
Hi Scott and thanks for trying Ultimento! This is 100% related to not clearing the Magento cache properly or not logging out / logging back in the admin .
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks! I had cleared the cache — but had not logged out and back in.
I getting this message:
It looks like Ultimento’s serial is not correct for ‘admin’. Fix it to enable Ultimento on ‘admin’.
I try to fix it by clicking the link — but the error keeps coming back.
Hi Scott – that means that your Base URL is not properly licensed… please check this troubleshooting post: I put my serial correctly – why do I get an ‘invalid’ error?
I changed the color scheme to White — had to uncheck the Use Website tool to do that.
After I did that, the frontend reverted to the default Magento look — except that the logo file is missing.
What did I do wrong?
Hi Scott – that’s the same issue as you mentioned previously so please first check my reply.
Here again the answer to all your question is accessible right here on the wiki: I installed Ultimento but my store still uses the default theme – why?
I think it’d be much more efficient for you to read/follow the documentation and only post questions when you can’t find the answer right away .
My purchase was on the July 15th. Could you enable the account to download v2? Thanks.
Hi Ren – please open a ticket via the help desk and we’ll send you Ultimento 2.0!
