To display new products on your Ultimento home page, all you have to do is mark them as “new” in your Magento admin and they will automatically show up on the front page. That’s it! More info on that here:
Can I change the overall color scheme of the site (not that the present green/grey/black scheme is bad at all)? I believe it said somewhere that we had a choice between three colors.
Hey Jack – please hold tight! We’re about to release the 2 additional color schemes we promised. And you’ll be able to switch between them directly from the admin. That’s included in the 1.1 release – hopefully by the end of this week. Stay tuned!
It’s not hard at all if you know a little CSS. But it’s not recommended. The slider fits perfectly in the overall design of the Magento theme. Also Ultimento is cross-browser compatible (works even on older browsers such as Internet Explorer 6!!) and unless you’re familiar with CSS and cross-browser compatibility, there’s a chance that when you change the CSS you will affect Ultimento’s interoperability.
Do you also provide paid Magento Community Edition support? (I noticed you do for free at Magento Experts, but I’m looking for someone that can provide some answers for me with my company’s multistore (2 but only USING one) installation on Bluehost.
I have everything working and understand most things, but have a couple of weird issues – like I can’t get cron jobs to run and my customer’s name is not getting pulled into the emails that get sent out (although other variables seem to work fine). I’m using v1.3.2.3 on Bluehost (Simplescripts installed). SimpleScripts upgrade to 1.4 did not go well, so had to roll back to 1.3.2.3 again (manually uploading backed up files and restoring the database to where it was before I tried the SimpleScripts upgrade).
If you can provide paid support, please let me know terms so I can run them past my employer. Thanks!
Hi there – thanks for the interest! Yes we can definitely help you with your issues. I would recommend the following:
1. First upgrade your installation to the latest stable release (1.4.1.1) – in addition to upgrading Magento core, this will also require custom work on your theme to make it compatible with the latest release as no Magento theme that was released for 1.3.x is compatible with 1.4 as is.
2. Migrate your site to a Magento optimized hosting service (we can recommend one and take care of the migration, including setting up the cron job etc).
3. If the issues still persist (I don’t believe they will) we can tackle them then. Most likely 1) and 2) will solve all your issues, significantly speed up your store, and add more features and stability to your installation.
How much work exactly will be required will depend on your specific store but this approach will save you tons of time and money moving forward.
If you’re interested in going that route – we can help you at our hourly rate. Please email me directly at contact [at] ultimento.com if you’d like to move forward.
I am looking to buy this awesome template and wondering about the installation and customization cost since i am really green in this area and would need help.
Installation cost: $0 – all you have to do is follow the installation instructions. There’s a 1-click auto-installer so it’s really easy. If you get the ‘Max’ package that also includes 1 hour of custom work which you can use to have us install the Magento platform and setup Ultimento on your server. Otherwise you can use that hour for customization.
Customization: $0 if you decide to customize your store yourself – which is what most customers do. Of course, you’ll have a learning curve to get to know the Magento platform but there’s a lot of documentation. If you need professional customization – we can help you at our hourly rate but I’d recommend getting started on your own first and contact us if needed.
Hi Noam, thanks for all the prompt answers. Please send the direct Google Invoice. Also, I realised current Ultimento version is still ver. 1.0.1 if I remember correctly. I’d like to take advantage of the additional color schemes you promised to be included in ver.1.1 release. Please confirm release date.
How do you quantify the 1-hour of free customization under the Max plan? I mean, you could do your design work concurrently with a cup of coffee that takes you 30 minutes to consume Is there a benchmark or this is all about “trust”? What can 1 hour do, as an example?
You could always come watch over our shoulders and make sure we’re actually working for a full hour Here’s one example of what we could accomplish in one hour – we could do all of the following tasks within 1 hour:
1. Install Ultimento if you haven’t done it yourself 2. Put your logo and make whatever necessary adjustments to ensure optimum look3. Setup your top level categories4. Tweak your Magento installation to speed it up
That’s just an example of course. How much can actually be achieved depends on your server settings, your requirements, and many other criteria. But we pride ourselves as being the fastest in the industry.
When is your more colorful Ultimento coming up? Is it compatible with the latest Megento 1.42RC1 release? I am considering buying the standard one but don’t want to link back (it just ain’t professional). But I only have one domain so would be a waste to go for the higher packages.
So you can actually tweak my system to make Magento run faster? But I thought your template design has already been tweaked to perform to be the “fastest in the world”? Is it correct to say all the prices shown will be discounted by 20% till 31 Dec?
Color schemes:
The 2 additional color schemes are included in the latest release (Ultimento 1.1) which is available for download today.
Number of domain names:
Most of our customers have a single store with 1 domain name but it’s a good practice to always run a development site in parallel with your live store – that’s why having a license for 2 domains is ideal.
The fastest Magento theme:
Indeed Ultimento is (by far) the fastest Magento template ever created. But there are other factors that come into account that are not related to the theme itself. Some of these factors are a few settings in Magento that will speed up the system.
20% off official prices:
All the prices that are currently shown on the pricing pageare already discounted by 20%. These prices are valid until 12/31/10.
On the admin side, I noticed there’s no place for attributes for the product – how do I add attribute information, etc to the More Information tab that users will see on the front end?
Correct – while I’m adding in info for the product such as description, SKU, etc, none of the attribute categories shows up for me to fill in under General where it usually is. And it doesn’t show up under the More Information Tab, like SKU.
I got it… nevermind – I need sleep. After going through the attributes and enabling the listing to display on the front end and product listing, it shows up.
Hi, i tried contacting you regarding the fact that you offered a 20% sale on this website but it was never applied and I also asked a few questions during the order process that never got answered. Due to this, I would like a refund on the product IMMEDIATELY please per you money back guarantee.
I have tried contacting via your link on the order confirmation page but it askes to login in but says invalid info. When I click to resend password, it says sent, but I never got it. I did this a few times.
I am hoping you will do good by your statements. I have gotten screwed a few times already and getting broke by it!
I did respond to your support request right away (below is the answer I had sent you). If you didn’t get it, most likely it went to your spam folder – please check it. Same with the forgot password email – it probably went to your spam folder. We also sent you an email with your order confirmation and another email with your serial for your domain name. Did you get these?
Regardless, I am happy to cancel your order within the 30 day trial. That’s absolutely no problem. Just please confirm and I’ll go ahead and cancel your license.
Here’s a copy of the email I sent you in reply to your support request.

To avoid this issue in the future, please add our addresses (@ultimento.com) to your email software safe list.
I feel that big right now. I humbly appologize! You are right it did go into spam.
I wish i caught it because I find your template was awesome! I unfortunately had to use another template to get started ASAP.
I would definitely be interested in your customizing services!
Is your template compatible with the latest Megento 1.42RC1 version? I know it is not yet a stable version but I will use it to populate my data first and have it LIVE when the stable version is released in due course. Or should I just wait for it first before buying your Ultimento skin? Do you have other skins too or just this one?
Hey Pete, in my opinion it’s a waste of time to worry about 1.4.2RC1 at this stage. You never know how long it will take before the stable Magento 1.4.2 is released and how many changes it will bring from the first release candidate version. There’s no point in worrying in advance about this – right now the latest stable release is 1.4.1.1 and we don’t recommend using any other version.
Ultimento will always be compatible with the latest stable release. We update Ultimento all the time to make sure it always remains at the very top of the eCommerce industry. And when new Magento releases come out, we thoroughly test Ultimento right away and update it if necessary.
OK, the reason why I am keen to go straight to 1.4.2RC1 is because they seemed to fix lots of bugs and has quite a number of feature improvements. Maybe I am wrong here.
BTW, do you consider the different color schemes as individual templates so if I pick 3 colors for 3 store views, would that be deemed as having 3 templates? I am thinking of buying the pro version.
Each new Magento release fixes bugs and brings improvements. But it’s not recommended to base anything on a non-stable release. The release candidate can vary from the stable release (often it can also have some serious bugs). 1.4.1.1 is very stable and when the time comes you’ll be able to upgrade.
Regarding your other questions, you can have as many installations of Ultimento as you want – what matters is the number of domain names. So the Pro edition comes with a license for 2 domain names. Ideally you’d want to setup one Magento installation for development (“mystoredev.com” for example), and one for your live store (“mystore.com” for example). Then in your Magento installation you can definitely have multiple store views (for different languages for example), multiple stores, websites, etc, as long as they’re using the same base URL. And you are free to use the color schemes in any way that you want. There is no restrictions.
One question: the template came with all sources? I mean the gfx (psd files) too?
The essence of question is because I need to translate it to portuguese. Is it possible?
Hi Andre! Yes ALL source files are included – they’re very well organized and structured to make it as easy as possible to edit.
Translating to another language will be a breeze – download the Portuguese language pack (free) and fine tune Ultimento’s elements (images etc) for your store and you’re good to go!
Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!
Is there a problem with your website? I’m trying to get to the home page and (like most of the links here) I get page not found. Where can I find pricing information and a spot to purchase this template?
There’s no problem on the website that I know of… I just tested all the pages and everything works fine. Which browser are you using? You can find pricing information on the pricing page.
On the arrival section front page, is there a way to have the title of the product with the picture? And how do we get the pop up to work like in the demo? Would we need hi-res or larger pictures for it to work?
Is there a way to add the title in grid view anyways without popup? It a wine shop, and the customer doesn’t care for the popup, they want people to look at it quickly with the title, because some labels and pictures are not very good and people wouldn’t not know what the product they are looking at.
Sure there is! In Magento, the product title is a product attribute and like any other attribute it can be shown on the product listing pages. The easiest way would be to use the list view by default instead of the grid view since Ultimento displays the product name in the list view (here’s an example: http://demo.ultimento.com/electronics?mode=list). You can switch to the list view in the admin via System > Configuration > Catalog.
Alternatively, you can alter the grid view code to include the product name. Here’s how to do it quickly:
1. Backup everything
2. Open app/design/frontend/default/ultimento/template/catalog/product/list.phtml
3. Locate the code that loops through the products for the grid view rendering and put the code below wherever you want to include the product name: <a href="<?php echo $_product->getProductUrl() ?>" title="<?php echo $this->stripTags($_product->getName(), null, true) ?>"><?php echo $_helper->productAttribute($_product, $_product->getName(), 'name') ?></a>
4. Make whatever CSS adjustments you deem necessary
5. Make sure you didn’t mess anything up and check all browsers
Of course you can do this yourself quite easily, or we can customize Ultimento for you at our hourly rate. Thanks and have a great weekend!
All you have to do is use the 1-click switcher in the admin . You can use the default Ultimento color, Blue scheme, or White scheme in just 1 click. Just make sure you have the latest version of Ultimento (which is 1.1.1 as of today). Thanks!
We release new versions all the time and each new release brings new features and great improvements so make sure to stay tuned!
Watch your email inbox in the next hour or so for instructions on how to login to your account and download the latest Ultimento (make sure to add our domain to your email client’s safe list so that our emails don’t go to spam).
Good work guys. I signed up for the Plus package last night. This will be an upgrade from our existing 1.4.0 Urban Black (Magentist) theme (from 6 months ago) which nicely included many of the features of Ultimento (a logical evolution of all your previous good work).
A quick question on the domain name licensing. I signed up for the plus package on the basis that we 2 domains (ourdomain.com.au for domestic market & ourdomain.com for US/Global market) with the separate domain name setup required for SSL setting. I was not expecting staging.ourdomain.com.au (a sub-domain) to be a separate license in effect. Have I got this right? The Max package, as nice as it is, is overkill for us. If I am correct, then is there an option to buy, subsequent to installation, an additional license for our 3rd, or subsequent, domain/s (as you measure it) and at what cost?
Hi David – thanks for your kind words! If you’d like I can update your license and change “ourdomain.com.au” to “staging.ourdomain.com.au” until you are ready to go live and then we can switch it again to “ourdomain.com.au”.
Alternatively I think the best option would be to upgrade the the Max package. It’s really worth it with the prioritized support and 1 hour FREE customization (which you can use for whatever you want – i.e. installation, help fine tuning your stores, etc).
Thanks for your quick response. Also, Happy Thanksgiving!
I am interested in the white theme. However, I would prefer the main categories in the header to be positioned the same as the tabs in the other two themes. How would I go about executing that?
Happy Thanksgiving! All 3 color schemes are included in Ultimento. And regarding customizing the white scheme, you can easily change the positioning of the navigation with a simple CSS change. If you’d like us to make the customization, we can do it for you for FREE included with Ultimento Max.
Thank you for the reply. I guess you have your reasons but a separate license for a development or staging site (which I intend to maintain for future development and testing prior to going live with changes, as is generally recommended good practice) seems a bit odd. I guess I was expecting (and yes I did read the popup on the pricing page) that licensing applied only to live domains as is more usually the case. As a package the Plus pack suits us better but the licensing limitation is a serious issue for us (you didn’t answer whether its possible to acquire additional licenses for subsequent domains).
Further to Maria’s question and your response. Is it proposed to offer (and a guesstimated timeframe) a more differentiated colour scheme than the 3 shown? For us the white background in main body doesn’t work and doesn’t vary between the 3 different accent themes offered. What drew me to Ultimento was the black background theme of your own main site. I really need a theme with a black (or dark tonal) background. Might we see a theme along these lines soon.
Hi David, Ultimento Plus includes 2 domain names specifically so that you can have a development domain running in parallel with your live Magento installation. If your live store requires 2 domain names (i.e. a different domain name for secure pages) the license will still work no problem. So for your case I think you’re good to go with Ultimento Plus.
There is no way at the moment to acquire a single additional license except for either upgrading to Max (which is the best deal) or purchasing another Ultimento package.
Regarding the color schemes, at the moment Ultimento includes the 3 variations shown on the demo but I added your request for a dark theme (with a darker background for the main background) to the feature request list. I don’t anticipate this color variation to be added too soon though because we have a very busy roadmap already with tons of great new features. Follow us on Twitter to stay tuned. Alternatively, you can customize Ultimento yourself or hire us to do it at our hourly rate. If all you want is change the color scheme to a darker color (including the background of the body) – that’s a pretty easy thing to do. All that’d be need is making some CSS changes.
I hope I answered your questions . Thanks and happy Thanksgiving!
what is it. Everytime i click to “get it”, it sends me back to the Starting Page. There is no chance to GET IT.
I am always back here http://ultimento.com/pricing. What in hell is do do. Am i blind???
Hi Wolfgang – that’s really weird … It’s working for me and for all our other customers though. Which browser are you using? Do you have cookies or JavaScript disabled or something like that?
WOW!!!
Awesome! Do we get the flash files (fla), too?
Yes all source files are included in all editions.
Great work! Just Amazing!
Awesome! The best e-Commerce site I’ve seen!
One question: how do I get a “New Arrivals product gallery” on the frontpage, like you have on the ultimento demo?
Thanks!
To display new products on your Ultimento home page, all you have to do is mark them as “new” in your Magento admin and they will automatically show up on the front page. That’s it! More info on that here:
http://ultimento.com/wiki/using-ultimento/how-do-i-display-new-products-on-the-home-page/
GREAT TEMPLATE!!! I’m having fun customizing it
How do I replace the Ultimento logo with my own? – And, where can I get the fonts that were used in the flash file?
Thanks!

How hard is it to change the size of the slider to something smaller?
It’s not hard at all if you know a little CSS. But it’s not recommended. The slider fits perfectly in the overall design of the Magento theme. What’s your hourly rate for customization/development and support?
$120/hr. And we’re the best in the industry.

Current Ultimento version is 1.0.7. There’s a bunch of new stuff in 1.1 (including promised color schemes) and it should be out in a couple of days.
Which edition of Ultimento are you interested in?
I’m contemplating on the plus edition. Any suggestions?
Ultimento Plus is excellent. Max is better if you think the 1 hour that’s included will be useful for you.
How do you quantify the 1-hour of free customization under the Max plan? I mean, you could do your design work concurrently with a cup of coffee that takes you 30 minutes to consume

I have just purchased 2 licenses from you where can I down load them, no email confirmation either.
I also dont like the fact there is no way to contact after purchasing.
Check your spam folder. Our emails probably went there. Also make sure to add our domain to your email software safe list.
There’s many ways to contact us – posting your question here is one of them (I got back to you in less than 3 minutes
).
Yes you did. Thanks
Thanks!
On the arrival section front page, is there a way to have the title of the product with the picture? And how do we get the pop up to work like in the demo? Would we need hi-res or larger pictures for it to work?
Here’s a tutorial on how to enable the Popup Preview images:
http://ultimento.com/wiki/getting-started/using-ultimento/how-do-i-add-popup-preview-images/
There’s also a section there that talks about the product name (scroll down to “increased user retention”).
Thanks!
3. Locate the code that loops through the products for the grid view rendering and put the code below wherever you want to include the product name:
<a href="<?php echo $_product->getProductUrl() ?>" title="<?php echo $this->stripTags($_product->getName(), null, true) ?>"><?php echo $_helper->productAttribute($_product, $_product->getName(), 'name') ?></a>4. Make whatever CSS adjustments you deem necessary
5. Make sure you didn’t mess anything up and check all browsers
Of course you can do this yourself quite easily, or we can customize Ultimento for you at our hourly rate. Thanks and have a great weekend!
Hey there,
Just wondering what all is involved with changing the layout to one of the colors you have listed as a layout option (ultimento white specifically).
Already purchased the theme.
Thanks!
Mark
All you have to do is use the 1-click switcher in the admin
. You can use the default Ultimento color, Blue scheme, or White scheme in just 1 click. Just make sure you have the latest version of Ultimento (which is 1.1.1 as of today). Thanks!
I purchased the theme about a month ago so I’m not sure I have the latest version? What if I have a prior version?
Once you download Ultimento 1.1.1, simply follow the update instructions.
Thanks!
Regards,
David
Hi David – thanks for your kind words! If you’d like I can update your license and change “ourdomain.com.au” to “staging.ourdomain.com.au” until you are ready to go live and then we can switch it again to “ourdomain.com.au”.
Alternatively I think the best option would be to upgrade the the Max package. It’s really worth it with the prioritized support and 1 hour FREE customization (which you can use for whatever you want – i.e. installation, help fine tuning your stores, etc).
Thanks!
Is it possible to view the different template color options in the demo on the Ultimento site?
Yes definitely! Here are the direct links to the color schemes:
Blue Scheme: http://demo.ultimento.com/?___store=gb
White Scheme: http://demo.ultimento.com/?___store=au
Ultimento Default: http://demo.ultimento.com/?___store=us
Thanks for your quick response. Also, Happy Thanksgiving!
I am interested in the white theme. However, I would prefer the main categories in the header to be positioned the same as the tabs in the other two themes. How would I go about executing that?
Thanks,
Maria
Happy Thanksgiving! All 3 color schemes are included in Ultimento. And regarding customizing the white scheme, you can easily change the positioning of the navigation with a simple CSS change. If you’d like us to make the customization, we can do it for you for FREE included with Ultimento Max.
Thanks!
Regards, David
I hope I answered your questions
. Thanks and happy Thanksgiving!
Hi there,
amazing, where in hell do i find the registration for the Trial version STANDART?
Best regards
Just go ahead and get Ultimento Standard from the pricing page. Your credit card won’t be charged if you cancel within 30 days.
Hi there,
what is it. Everytime i click to “get it”, it sends me back to the Starting Page. There is no chance to GET IT.
I am always back here http://ultimento.com/pricing. What in hell is do do. Am i blind???
Best regards
Hi Wolfgang – that’s really weird
… It’s working for me and for all our other customers though. Which browser are you using? Do you have cookies or JavaScript disabled or something like that?
