How do I change the badge on the checkout page?
We use Ultimento ourselves on our live Magento stores with great success. Naturally we always want to get better and better conversions, continue to improve our Magento sites’ SEO, make them load faster and faster, remain compatible on all browsers (including mobile browsers), etc. As a result we continuously improve Ultimento which remains far above the entire Magento competition both with its Magento themes and Magento extensions – and you benefit from the free updates that are regularly released!
As part of our quest for perfection in terms of conversion optimization, we’ve included a graphical element on the left column of the one page checkout. The badge can be used to increase trust and improve your store’s conversion rate.
The default graphic is a banner that says “30 day money guarantee” but you can easily change it with any other image. For example you could use a badge from your payment processor (Paypal, Authorize.net, or whatever you use), or from your SSL provider. Research shows that elements of this type can make a significant difference in cart abandonment rates.
Here’s how to change the badge:
- Login to your Magento admin
- Access CMS > Static Blocks and click on the “Money Back” block to edit it
- Change “/images/Website-Design-30-Day-Guarantee.jpg” to whatever image you’d like!
Note: to keep the structure in #3, upload your new image using any FTP tool to this folder in your Magento root:
skin/frontend/default/ultimento/images/your-image-filename.jpg
If you’re using one of Ultimento’s color schemes such as Ultimento White or Ultimento Blue, change “ultimento” in the path above to “ultimentowhite” or “ultimentoblue” respectively
.

How can I put the “quote shipping” back on the cart page. I felt it was a useful feature.
Hi Leon – the shipping estimate on the cart page has only been hidden with CSS to improve conversion rates and reduce cart abandonment. So it’s really easy to put back – just edit Ultimento’s CSS and remove the “display:none;” that’s on the “.cart .shipping” class.
I added a task on our roadmap to style the shipping quote block nicely on the cart page for users who want to have it enabled, and even an admin option to enable and disable it easily. That way you’ll be able to experiment and see what brings the best conversions for your specific industry.
Make sure to follow @ultimag on Twitter and subscribe to the Ultimento blog!
Thanks,
I understand the thought of forcing users into the cart process to get the shipping quote. However, I do want to get that quote module back on the check out page. I will watch for the upgrade with the styling.
Leon
Hi Noam,
Is the restyling close to being completed, we want the shipping calculator in the cart screen but at the moment it spoils the look of the cart screen.
regards
Ian
Yes very close! We’re even implementing an admin option to turn it on or off
. Hopefully will be included in the next Ultimento release – stay tuned!
I feel foolish but I accidentally deleted the moneyback block
what is the exact name of the title and identifier.
Thanks!
Tim
Hey Tim – the identifier is “money_back”. The title doesn’t matter
.
how i can get rid of this -OR- word or put google checkout button under paypal? screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/n4XXbl08L thanks
Hi Sam – this shouldn’t be there if you’re using the latest Ultimento version but feel free to open a new ticket via your account center’s help desk with your Magento admin and FTP info and we can double check for you
