Ultimento 2.3 release notes
November 28, 2011
Ultimento 2.2 was released just about a month and a half ago but we wanted to release a new update before the holiday season kicks in! We have a lot of amazing new features and improvements scheduled on our roadmap and Ultimento 2.3 isĀ a minor version that prepares the grounds for future awesomeness!
One of the top requested features is an exploded navigation Magento extension that would be built-in Ultimento (similar to what many of our customers are implementing on their Ultimento stores via free and premium 3rd party Magento extensions currently available on the market). We’re hoping to include it in the next release once we’re totally satisfied with our implementation – both in terms of load speed, SEO, and design/usability. Stay tuned!
As always all updates are free for life for all customers while upgrades (i.e. even new branches) are free to Max customers only. If you’re not a Max customer yet we highly recommend you upgrade today!
Our goal with Ultimento is to remain at the very top of the Magento industry, and of the Ecommerce ecosystem as a whole, in terms of load speed, SEO, and conversion rates.

Hi Noam,
any plans on providing a summary of improvements/fixes/changes with Release Notes?
Would be useful in guiding us into looking at what has changed with this update, as for now, we would be updating to 2.3 without really knowing what 2.3 brings.
Thanks,
Samuel
Hi Samuel – at this time we don’t have a public change-log but comparing different Ultimento versions with a file & folder comparison tool is the best way to see which files were changed and what was changed exactly. For the CSS files, make sure to compare the included uncompressed versions.
If you run the comparison on your computer it’s a matter of just a few minutes
.
Hi Noam
In the absence of an official change log, would you be able to provide a high level summary of any new features or bug fixes that have been included in the new releases? The challenge that I have with the file and folder comparison method is that I am not a strong coder and might not be able to tell the difference between a bug fix and a feature enhancement.
The root of the request is to determine whether the effort required to upgrade is worthwhile or if waiting for the next update makes more sense. I understand the upgrade proof methodology but if we have customized many of the core ultimento theme files (css, cms, html, phtml) then all of the customizations still need to be merged with the new source files.
Thanks!
I agree… a new release with no information as to what has been updated is not very helpful. Is this release only bugfixes or are there new features included?
Running a file comparison to figure out what has been updated would work… but as Brad said, I have neither the knowledge nor the time to do what can probably be quickly answered by the Ultimento team.
Hey Brad – like mentioned on the post, Ultimento 2.3 is a minor release. So there are no new features. But I do recommend upgrading if you’re running the latest Magento 1.6.x version in order to fully leverage the new Magento features and improvements.
Hope this helps! The next release note should include detailed information like we’ve published in the past
.
To support/Noam replacement,
I have updated the code to 2.3.1. Without knowing what the fixes included were With the hopes that a bug fix for missing product rating stars would be Work, but it didn’t. Now that we have new management with a pledge to improve customer support. Let start by indicating what’s in the release. Note, I have other issues with some custom code that was recently written for me as well. Explect a trouble ticket shortly.
Thanks againg for the pledge to improve support!
Hi John,
Thanks for acknowledging our efforts. As a matter of record, the latest release was primarily to effect the transition of the Ultimento platform to the new ownership so there is no material change to the underlying code from a customer perspective.
Having had an opportunity to dive into the code, we will be releasing another update in a few weeks which will resolve many of the bugs identified on this discussion board.
Regards,
Support
Looks like you have great product and am scoping it for a current project. I certainly agree with these guys that you need to provide release notes and a diff file or something.
Hi Charles,
Thank you for your comment. We definitely understand the need for release notes and as we release future updates and upgrades we will include more detailed notes and instructions for all of our customers. Again, we would like to emphasize that the latest product release did not have any material updates other than help in the transitioning of the product to new ownership.
