Ultimento 1.4 is here – with a big surprise!
April 18, 2011
I’m very excited to announce the release of Ultimento version 1.4! And as always, this new version is available to all Ultimento customers for free .
We’re constantly fine tuning the Magento themes included in Ultimento to be ever faster and ever more optimized for SEO. And while we’re certainly obsessed with load speed performance and search engine optimization, we’re simply fanatic about conversions!
We’re constantly testing various Ultimento powered Magento stores with A/B testing and multivariate experiments in order to attain the best conversion rates possible. And we’re proud to say that with the latest new Magento extension now included in Ultimento 1.4, your eCommerce store will vastly improve its conversion rates. Some of our customers say even up to 60%, just with that new extension! Read on for all the details:
Ultimento 1.4 highlights
The big surprise in this new version is the new Optimized Checkout Magento extension that is now included in Ultimento for free ($149 value)! The Magento Optimized Checkout module brings the number of unique premium Magento extensions included in Ultimento to a whooping 13! All included at no extra cost whatsoever!
Here’s an extract from what I wrote on the Magento Optimized Checkout Module page:
The new Magento Optimized Checkout Extension is really great. It’s so great that we’re using it on all our live stores . We originally got into developing this module because we wanted to get rid of the very annoying and confusing first step in the Magento checkout page.
What’s good about the Optimized Checkout extension is that it doesn’t overwrite Magento’s checkout functionality (unlike other Magento checkout extensions). All it does is extend the Magento One Page Checkout in a very non-obtrusive way. Other checkout extensions create tons of problems with different Magento versions and upgrades, as well as with other custom modules. That’s because they entirely replace Magento’s One Page Checkout functionality with their own (which is often not even as good).
Other Magento Checkout Extensions also add their own css and template files, slowing down the most important page of an online store!
Ultimento 1.4 improvements
Many additions, changes, and improvements were made for this new release – both to the Magento themes and to the Magento extensions that come with Ultimento. Here are some of them:
- Improve color switcher functionality in the admin options – easily switch from one Magento theme to another by selecting it in the admin.
- New option in the admin to make it easier to replace the demo logo with your own.
- Full cross browser compatibility with the new Internet Explorer version 9.
- Added a “read more” link on the product view page at the end of the product short description – the link utilizes Ultimento’s Smooth Scroll Magento extension to slide down to the full description of the product. It’s pretty cool.
- And much more!
A website needs to be constantly updated. And that’s paritcularly true when it comes to eCommerce! Not only in terms of SEO or eCommerce security, but also because there are always some hidden bugs. But who has time to thoroughly test an online store with all possible combination of browser, operating system, window size, Magento configuration, language, catalog settings, etc? We do! We’re perfectionists and we love clean and optimized code that renders perfectly in all circumstances.
You probably won’t even notice most of the bug fixes we applied in Ultimento 1.4, first because these bugs are so tiny, but also because they occur in rare circumstances. Yet we still highly recommend you upgrade your Magento store to the latest Ultimento release.
One of the advantages of using Ultimento is that you can leverage the regular free updates to constantly improve your eCommerce and remain at the top of your industry.
